Say someone incredibly addicted to food was doing a Cycled Keto diet and had to reefed once a week for their goals. If they wanted to remove the temptation that high carb foods come with and merely add some carbs to his post workout shake.
What would be more harmful. The sugars from dextrose or the gluten from waxy maize?
I used waxy maize for my first reefed and felt great, no gluten sensitivity. I would much rather get zero grams of sugar than avoid gluten and get a big dump of sugar in my system and face the metabolic damage associated with it.
I am looking for some good fact based answers. Also please no one just recommend paleo carbs. I know you can get paleo carbs that was not the question. Cheers.

have you checked your waxy maize label to see if it contains gluten?
as far as i can tell, corn (maize) does not contain any gluten and is a safe food for celiacs (coeliacs) (unless it has been cross contaminated with gluten).
you may hear the term corn gluten or maize gluten, this is a misleading/incorrect term, read more here or google for more.

I would imagine that it would depend on how well you tolerate gluten. I'm with you in that I feel less guilty about eating gluten than I do sucrose, but Robb Wolf says he intentionally cheats with ice cream, chocolate, and sugary drinks and avoids pizza, beer, and cookies because of the gluten.
