whether it's IBS, fatigue, acne, depression, or any health condition, has there been a 100% recovery from going paleo?

For me, it's acid reflux. I've been on meds for 15 years so I was amazed that I had no reflux within 2 weeks of going Primal/paleo. I have splurged with toxic treats on 2 holidays and needed pills for a couple days each time. Otherwise, it's fun to say I'm 64 and taking no meds at all!

Although anecdotal is not the most ideal form of evidence, this question/frame would produce an excellent format for a book advocating Paleo.

I should say, it's more than just ditching the grains... that helped A LOT - but truly, the whole Paleo philosophy and the entire way of eating is really making a difference for me.

Lost my issues with back pain, psoriasis, arthritis, IBS, seasonal allergies, and I haven't been sick since I started (about 6 months ago). I recently figured out that dairy was the main culprit behind the psoriasis, as I decided to try a milk fast and my psoriasis came on with a vengeance. Cut the milk out, and right back to good again. I really have no health issues that I can speak of anymore.

Yes I am convinced that you can heal yourself from anything through good nutrition. After going Paleo I not only feel better, but my moods are more even and I have a lot more energy, and doing CrossFit has done wonders as well. I have struggled with depression off and on over the years. I was even on Paxil in my early 20's (horrible side effects!). I think back to how horrible my diet was and the amount of sugar to I took in and it's no wonder I suffered from dizziness and panic attacks. I can honestly say that is ALL GONE and I can thank the Paleo diet for that.

Paleo has TOTALLY cured my IBS, dandruff (possibly mild psoriasis), and depression and my acne has cleared up about 80%. I was on 8-10 prescription medications to try to control all of that before I started Paleo. Now, my only prescription is birth control. (You can pry that from my cold, dead hands, thank you.)

Any time my eating gets off track, I can feel the symptoms of one or more returning. I eat a good, clean meal full of fat, and I feel better. I'm convinced the depression was because I NEVER ate enough fat, the IBS, acne, and dandruff were from eating too many grains.

My fatigue has also cleared up. I used to fall asleep pretty much anytime I sat still for more than 20 minutes. Now, I can't remember the last time I needed a nap in the middle of the day.

Honestly, I've only been Paleo for about a month now... but I've noticed some pretty significant changes. My energy levels are awesome, my mind is so much clearer and focused, and my moods have evened out. Physically, I feel stronger - my workouts have been fantastic. And, I had been starting to suffer joint pain (elbows and knees) for some unknown reason. Since ditching grains, the joint pain has vanished.

Again, I'm only a month in, and I'm just going to keep monitoring how I feel, but at this point, I'm a believer.

I've been gluten/dairy/wheat/soy free for the past two years, and the past 30 days I've been strict paleo. These are my successes on each diet:

Gluten/Dairy/Wheat/Soy Free

Dandruff eczema went away

Dry itchy skin went away

Hair loss stopped

Hives went away

Gas and constipation went away

No more sinus infections

Ear infections went away

Blurry vision went away

My body fat went away - I lost about 30 pounds (without nearly any exercise)

My brain fog went away

My panic/anxiety attacks went away

But then I went through a period the past few months where I began eating all the gluten-free out there, which wasn't healthy for me at all, because of all the junk still in them. I ate a ton of sugary items, and a ton of potatoes and potato chips. Some symptoms came back, and after going Paleo for the past 30 days, I've had these successes:

Acne went away

Heavy periods and cramps lessened

Hypoglycemic attacks went away***This is by far my favorite success. I couldn't 1-2 hours without eating or I would have an attack and if it got too bad I would nearly pass out and have to go to the ER.

I went VLC paleo first and now I am moderate-carb 'primal' with lots of dairy fat.

I was never really 'normal' before. This is by far the healthiest I have ever been since I was a toddler!

Thanks for the answers everyone. For me I had some digestive, mood, fatigue, eye pain, that cleared up very well after Paleo, but it all returns so quickly if I do something wrong with diet. But in honesty, I have still had difficulty enjoying things and feeling excited like I used to. Life becomes very difficult when you stop experiencing the feeling of being excited. On the flip side, when I get my diet just right, I have felt that old feeling of an urge to do something.
