Since there is talk about gaining weight all over paleo hacks, i was wondering when played defensive end in high school when i weighed 240 (im 190 now) i was benching 325 for reps, powercleaning 260 for reps, and deadlifting 450-480 pounds, this was when i was 17 years old, (im 18 now), but when i was 16 i was only benching 145, cleaning 135, and deadlifting 245, i was wondering if genetics played a big part in me getting that strong in a year

For that type of very respectable performance most definitely genetics.

There aren't too many 18 year olds benching 325 for reps without the gear, unless they've been dealt a good hand of genes. As always, be grateful to your parents :)

It may be disputed by some people, but I'm a believer in Somatotypes: Mesomorph, Endomorph and Ectomorph and the blends. Genetics will always come into play, whether you're a skinny dude, chubby one or just a tank in general. But the biggest key is progression. Your body adapts to these kinds of things in order to survive. Strength is a matter of time, so obviously doubling all your lifts in a year is quite impressive (I believe).

People generally want things "now, now, now" and aren't willing to put in the dedication and hard work, but clearly you have. So kudos to you.
