Convenient alternative to ziploc bags?

I would like to store mints and sundries like that in little bags or pouches when I'm on the go, but I'd like to avoid using plastics. Would anyone have recommendations for something that could fit the bill? Tiny leather pouches might be quite appealing, but does anyone sell those? I am on a very tight budget, so extra points for frugal suggestions.

Great idea; I started using some mint boxes after I posted this question.

This is good to know. A bit too big for my purposes, but these look very versatile.

Paper bags, I will have to check those out. I do have parchment paper, and I guess I might make a little bag out of it.

Paper bags, glass tupperware, mason jars, parchment or wax paper.

I like tins like altoid tins. You can clean them out and reuse them. They are lightweight and unbreakable

Sew some cloth bags the size you want. Put your items in the cloth bag and then in a plastic bag you can reuse many, many times. Wash the cloth bags after each use. You can put a cloth bag on top of the plastic one as well and just use the plastic as a liner for foods that would dry out or leak, and not use the plastic otherwise. The plastic would last a long time this way if you are careful with it. Alternatively, use glass and carry a lunch bag.
