Hello everyone,

I'm wondering how to get rid of these pains I've been having since starting what I call my new lifestyle. I've lost a ton of weight and feel better overall health wise but I've been having pains in my stomach everyday. I basically eat the same thing everyday and am happy with I jut need help with these pains. They are with me form breakfast until I go to sleep. Any advice? Thanks for taking the time to read this

I'm glad the pain is gone.... do you have any idea if it was the broccoli, kale, spinach or eggs?

Now that you have the pain under control....imo, it's time to make changes that improve your situation. For the time being you can increase the amounts of the foods that you do tolerate well. And dial back some on your workouts until you get eating squared away.

You didn't get fat overnight, it's not necessary or good to recomp your body in hurry. Take your time, figure out what works.

How about some more information? Give the people on PH something to work with.....

Losing a lot of weight quickly and having constant gastrointestinal pains is never a good sign, go to the doctor, it could be serious (like cancer). By the way, have you suffered from jaundice lately?

Yeah.... I was going for the "one change at a time", ever the scientist.

But since the problem does involve intense pain, it probably makes more sense to eliminate them all. If the pain goes away, they can be reintroduced one at time to find the culprit.

Given what you wrote afterwards about the things you eat, I don't consider that healthy. Not because these items aren't healthy, but because you're eating the same thing every day, and at least one of these ingredients is not playing nice with your stomach (or the fact that you eat the same thing over and over). Where's the seafood? Poultry is extremely high in omega-6 btw, even these that are marked organic and free range. Too many eggs for my taste too, bring a bit of variety. Where are the so many other types of veggies? Your veggies are consistent of just two types, of the same family (brassicas), so if you're intolerant to brassicas (a lot of people are), then no wonder you're getting these pains.

To me, your Paleo version feels like a military regiment. It feels like the kind of "sacrifice" one will do for 1-2 months in order to lose weight, and then, bye-bye Paleo. This is not Paleo in my book. You're not supposed to eat so little to just "hold you over", as you said. You're supposed to eat enough, and you're supposed to eat many different things.

Also, are you drinking enough water? How about eating some carbs after your exercise?

Yes, you should visit a doctor. It sounds as if there is low HCl possibly due to an GIT infection or leaky gut. Eggs can be problem (they are commonly allergenic). Fructose (as found in smoothie) might also be a problem. Ideally, do not combine fruit and veg in smoothies either. I would suggest stripping back the diet into two food groups that almost never cause GIT distress (white meats and vegetables) and see how that goes. Also, light cooking will also improve digestability of foods without hampering the nutritional content to any great degree.

I'd take Bobk's idea one step further and eliminate all those fruits and veggies for the time being and see if that eliminates the issues. How soon after eating does this pain come on? And is it after each meal or all day/night long. If it is constant then I'd go asap to doctor.

I would suggest eliminating, one at a time and for several days, some of your fruit & veggie choices. I would suggest the broccoli or kale go first; pick one.

I assume the kale & broccoli are eaten raw? What are new things you are eating now that you have a "new lifestyle" ? What changed?

Could you elaborate on your pain some more. Is it coming from the upper abdomen, the lower abdomen, the left side or the right side, does it radiate to your back, etc. Please elaborate. Also, regardless of what anyone here says, you should go to a doctor.

Ok don't think I'm wacky when you hear this. For breakfast I have 4 eggs at 7am sharp. 11am sharp I have a green drink made with kale spinach banana and an apple. 2pm I eat turkey which I prepare every Sunday for my work week (not too much but e nought to hold me over) 445 I'm at the gym until 6-630 then come right home and have some kind of meat weather it's steak or ground beef with broccoli . Is this good? I've been dealing with the pain for about a month now. I've basically just been going to sleep when it gets too bad
