Really tight feeling in quads during sprints

I've been doing stronglifts 5x5 for 3 weeks and have been really liking it. I still do sprints here or there. Yesterday I got a PR on my squats and I'm not really sore today but when I tried to do sprints this morning I had a really tight feeling in the front of my thighs and I felt that I couldn't run as fast. Does this mean I should not run sprints the day after lifting? or at all? Do I have a sprain?

Wow great answer, glad to know someone else was in a similar boat. I guess I can't have my cake and eat it too. Thanks!

Yes, you most likely have a low-degree sprain. I would rest for 24 hours before doing anything else.

When sprinting with 5x5, you need to lessen the intensity and lengthen the rest. I was able to do both for about 5 months -- but I burned myself out.

Listen to your body as soon as you loose power on your sprints -- stop.

for me, I found it easier to do 5x5 on the same day as sprinting -- with lifts in the morning, and sprints at night. That way you still have 24ish hours of rest.
