Have you ever done a cleansing/purification spiritual cleansing ritual from gluten/bad foods?

Tonight I will be participating in a cleansing ritual with a friend of mine (another person who discovered just how badly they were reacting to gluten and why its the cause of all the world's evils and political corruption.)

We had a lifelong addiction to glutenous foods and SAD-approved foods and we managed to shake off those habits over the course of 2 years. I feel like our health journeys are both coming to a close (we are both pretty much where we want and need to be in our "health level." I feel like a 10 on most days now.

But the threat and temptation of gluten and A1 casein and gut dysbiosis always looms overhead, ready to strike at any moment. We will be asking the spirits during our candlelit ritual for the emotional strengths to overcome any physical temptation and threat. The spirits usually give us some thoughts of wisdom and positive energy to take back into our daily lives. Then we distribute that positive energy anytime we encounter negative influences (not just bad food.)

Has anyone else done ritual cleansing/warding gluten spirits away with incense, candles and psilocybin? I think the one thing vegetarians have on paleo people is that they try to be more spiritually enlightened than paleos/omnivorous people.

Making an ignoramus list probably isn't the best way to make your point.

Yes, it was a joke. All of you can stop patting yourselves on the back now. Sorry to break up the party.

I did too, until I read the last part about gluten spirits. If she was kidding, she probably would have said so with my first remark.

...actually I tried and I can't remove my vote because the computer won't let me. Hopefully everyone else is a lot more open-minded than I am to these well-substantiated claims.

I will remove my "vote to close," but seriously, gluten spirits are not behind political corruption. Please have a look at exhibit A; rice loving North Korea.

Modern wheat is something no one should be ingesting, but blaming it on the ails of modern civilization is a couple giant leaps too far. I am with alligator, at first I thought you were kidding.

You wrote that today, how can you not remember? And no, I'm voting to close this because I think you should see a doctor if you actually believe gluten spirits are the cause of the world's evils.

^So you voted to close because of some silly little e-vendetta? I don't even remember what you're referring to. Let go of e-grudges, brother. I forgive you.

My first question I have voted to close...YOu said that quoting a nobel prize winning psychologist constitutes a baseless claim, but what am I supposed to make of these gluten spirits of which you speak that are the cause of all the world's evils and political corruption?

Gluten the cause of all the world's evil and political corruption? Gluten spirits? Let me get this straight, direct quotes from a Nobel Prize winning psychologists are deemed baseless criticisms and claims, but not this? how am I to take you seriously any more?

and you (inaccurately) criticized me for making baseless claims? Gluten the cause of all the world's evils and political corruption? Gluten spirits? Your physical health may feel like a 10, but I'm a little curious about what's going on in the attic.

At first I thought you were joking, and was going to up vote you for brining some levity to the site, but then...unfortunately....I realized this was written with a straight face, and I down voted. Are you medicated?

I'm very spiritually observant about the food I eat, which is essentially one way I invite and welcome the world into my body. I just don't talk about it on PaleoHacks because there's this tendency to shut down questions about spiritual matters as off topic. I'm generally supportive of the policies here, don't get me wrong. I just don't agree that spirituality has no place in a forum about eating. Good luck with this one.

Is it a real question or just for laughs? Thank you so much - I laughed very hard reading it. Colbert is not on this week so I needed some entertainment. I must admit, you are pretty funny.

Also, while at it, could you ward away some sugar and ice cream cravings for me? I am sure it can work long distance. I am miles away from you but the vibe will reach me with a powerful wave of quantum particles.

And also - nuts overindulgence - I would love to ward off that spirit too.

I get bored with the same old foods every day. Can those purification rituals make me fall in love with vegetables once again?

Will you be doing coffee enemas as a part of your cleansing ritual or is it totally spiritual? Will you be calling on spirits of our ancestors, the Paleo cavemen?

Thank you one more time for you positive energy. I am already feeling it.

Oh, and go easy on psilocybin, I would stick to coffee enemas (with cream) instead.

I'm pagan, so I'm familiar with ritual for personal transformation, but I have never seen the need to do ritual to change my eating habits. Personally, I think you may be taking things a bit too seriously, but if it works for you, then do it, and nuts to what anyone else thinks.
