Hack my calorie dense no-cooking snack?

Well I just got back from dance class and was is desperate need of calories. I say this as I am doing the leangains.com IF schedule and so won't normally eat from 21:00 to 14:00. I want to get my calories in for the day and also need to get to sleep as I have a busy morning ahead.

Tonight I decided to grab something that I could eat in 2 minutes while walking home and then head straight to bed. I decided on the following:

A 310g Melton Mowbray Pork Pie.

Pork 30%, Wheat flour, Pork Lard, Pork Fat, Salt, White Pepper, Gelatine, Egg, Black Pepper. No artificial colors, flavours or hydrogentaed fat.

Typical values were given per 100g so if I multiple them for 310g:

1150.1Kcal, 29.45g Protein, 69.13g Carbohydrate, 83.39g Fat (29.40g saturates), 3.1g Fibre, 3.30g Salt.

Now I am OK with gluten, so basically this pie was just a once off wedge of protein, wheat and fat, and apart from being very tasty I feel it did the best job.

Thoughts?

I'm off to bed so will catch them tomorrow.

Thanks

@Ashley, I have, but prefer a spoonful followed by my morning cuppa. @Mash - 118kcal/tbsp. I would say a heaping soup spoon is about 2.5 tablespoons of oil... so about 300kcal for a spoonfull. Sure, it's not a thousand cals, but if you are IF'ing it's a better option until you get something real in you.

Sorry Mash for my American measurements... a tablespoon is about 15gm.

Well I am still discovering. But basically I have found I can actually eat pastry more than I can eat bread or even pancakes. When I say OK, I mean I am not suffering from IBS 30 minutes later.

Love it! Do you put the oil in the coffee? I couldn't do it.

How do you know you are OK with gluten?

If I'm in a hurry and can't "power through" the hunger, I'll lean a bit heavier on a tablespoon full of coconut oil...

In fact a spoon of coconut oil with a cup of strong french pressed sumatra and I feel like I could kick down a skyscraper and punch a hole in a battleship.

If you thought it was very tasty and did the best job, there's little I can say to change your mind. For my palette and sensitivities, the gluten and questionable pork lard AND fat (???) would make that an absolute no. For fast/grocery store, I like hardboiled eggs, cheese, guacamole, jerky, and maybe some veggies/fruit. In fact, if I were post-workout, I would even go for simple quality ice cream before that gluten/omega6 bomb. But I bet it was surely delicious!

Less protein than i would like personally. When I do just 2 meals i hit at least 50g+g protein in each. I've personally never had a noticeable response to gluten either, so I don't freak out about having it once in a while.....but I still consider it a cheat and far from optimal.
