I have no problems tolerating raw spinach. It seems to dissolve so easily in the blender, unlike kale. I cook all the kale that I consume, though. Very sensitive digestion. Find what works for you :).

I have a really hard time digesting a really hard-to-digest food like raw kale, as well. Best to sautee the shit outta that stuff before putting it in our mouths! ;)

I eat all types of greens all the time, kale is the only one that makes me suffer though :-S

Fruit ought to be eaten alone for maximum digestion, as well as preventing fermentation in the gut.

I have a big problem with Kale. Sure it's nutritious but it messes up my digestion like nothing else. In fact, TMI I'm sure, but I only made ONE kale-based smoothie in my life because that smoothie caused a week-long streak of terrible constipation. In retrospect, it was way too much kale.

Some fruits can be highly acidic and can cause stomach aches and nausea. I posted two sites about fruits, their acidic level, and their affects on the body that mights help:

http://www.imraw.me/fruit-list-acid-sub-acid-sweet.html

I hope this helps!!!

Troubleshoot.

Remove all ingredients then add them back into the smoothie one at a time? Maybe use a generic base like lettuce as filler until you get more than 2-3 ingredients back in.

Just throwing stuff against the wall, but it could be the fructose?

Could be the kale, how do you prepare it? If you don't rip off the leaves from the stem and use all of it then the tough stem might be it. Kale rips me up pretty bad if I eat too much of it at once.

Might be the air whipped in the smoothie causing gas which is uncomfortable. Do you feel fine when you eat those ingredients alone, not in smoothie form?
