Tiredness, How can I get more energy?

How do wake up feeling energetic and stay that way for the whole day?

I get around 8 hours of sleep, 10pm - 6am.

Write out a typical daily diet. My guess without even seeing it: eat more food.

If you find that it doesn't have anything to do with diet or exercise, you might want to rule out sleep apnea. Do you know if you snore?

Do sprints in the morning.

I had this problem, and when I started doing sprints I started waking up jumping out of bed with energy.

I think I over-did it though - sprints every single day - and was feeling run down again. I'm now trying to add moderate amount, maybe 2 or 3 days per week. Still testing, but the initial impact was huge.

Mark Sisson says he sprints one day per week...just like 5 to 8 sprints.

You might just be one of those people who needs more or less sleep than 8 hours. I do better with 9 hours or 6 hours, but 8 kills me because of sleep cycles getting cut off.

Maybe you have cortisol dysregulation. Maybe you have blood sugar dysregulation. Maybe you're stressed.

So many more variables but it is late here...

I started doing Cross Fit at 5:45 AM. I can honestly tell you that I am energized the entire day. I even find myself cleaning house when I get home from work instead of watching TV.

If you're low carb you might try incorporating weekly clean carb ups.

I know this helps me.

How clean is your diet? I have been eating paleo for ~1 year now and I find that the longer I go without any "cheats" the better I sleep. In fact, I would say I sleep as hard as a rock most of the time. That has been one of the main motivators to eating this way - that I truly feel rested and energized within moments of waking.
