Package handler sleep schedule

I'm currently working as a part time package handler and it's killing my social life. I work from 3am-8am which means I usually go to bed around 5pm and wake up around 230 am. I almost never go out but when I do I need redbull to stay afloat. Not good. I've had a couple of decent coffee meetups recently and It's driving me crazy that I might not be able to pursue these girls.

I'm thinking about experimenting with sleep from 1030 pm-230am (4 hours) and then again from 2pm-6pm (4hrs)

sounds like a bad idea and I don't think it will work but I'm willing to try it..do I have any hope? anybody ever try a similar split?

I have my room blacked out so I have that going for me..

Oh man, I feel your pain. I used to work 12 hour shifts from 3:00AM to 3:30pm. Tried to be asleep by 6:00pm to get up and do it again. I did three shifts a week like that and thought the good shiftwork money and four days off were worth it.

However, I never felt truely alert or rested any of the time, even on days off, without a lot of coffee. After a couple years of these shifts (nursing) blood labs, showed adrenal fatigue and hypothyroid issues. It was also hard to figure out WHEN to eat on that shift, cause I was not hungry in any specific pattern.

When I got back to more normal e.g. 9:00am - 9:30PM, felt back to normal. And months after with better attention to diet, labs normalized.
