How many hours of deep sleep do we need? I use a Jawbone Up band to track movement/sleep. I notice that on average I get about 2.5h of deep sleep. Looking on their forums, and google, there's no clear answer as to what's normal, average or optimal, so I'm looking for what others are getting as values, just to have something to compare against. :)
There's multiple stages to sleep, so they seem to lump N3 and N4 together as "deep sleep" and N1 and N2 as light sleep.

I need 7.5 to 8 hours a day. If I get less than 6 hours more two or more nights in a row, this is red alert for me.
