how has paleo affected your sleep paralysis?

I dont know how many people experience sleep paralysis, but it only occurred to me yesterday that since going paleo and dialling in my sleep plus vitamin d and magnesium, yesterday was the first time I've experienced sleep paralysis in months!! I used to have it several times a week. This is so cool!!

Has anyone else ever had sleep paralysis? Has it disappeared since you went more primal?

no ... it's not fun like lucid dreaming ... it's like being trapped in your own body and not being able to do anything about it ... it's scary!!

Don't some people want sleep paralysis for lucid dreaming fun? I had it once or twice and it was mad crazy. I can imagine it would be very distressful to have it happen several times a week when you didn't want it to!

Are you asking about hypnagogic or hypnopompic sleep paralysis, and not REM atonia?

I hadn't even thought about it until recently when I realized I hadn't had a sleep paralysis episode since I started eating paleoish about 8 months ago. It happened again once, but it's a far cry from having it happen multiple times a week!

If you're talking about hypnagogic sleep or sleep terrors, I've had that. Started over 30 years ago and I had a lot of them. They eventually tapered off. I think they were caused by a lot of emotional stress, or in later years by being overtired. In the beginning I didn't find them fun at all...being unable to move, and awake, and thinking that someone was trying to break into my room was very scary. Over time the last part went away. Haven't had any terrors, though, for quite a while.
