Oily skin that also has a oily smell

Is it possibly that the oily skin and hair that I have acquired since going mostly paleo is do to the body adjusting to the new diet and even naturally detoxing?? And does this problem go away? My face feels like I ate a bag of microwave popcorn and wiped my hands on my face. Kinda smells like it too. I have also started doing mini crossfit workouts, could that be related? Thank you for any insite Barb

Try changing the brand, maybe.

I figured it out! If I use coconut oil to cook with I get the oily skin and the weird smell. I guess I should not use cocnut oil which is sad because I love the stuff.

Hmmm... paleo fixed my super-oily skin and hair. I would make sure your omega three levels are fairly substantial as acne-prone skin (which is often oily skin) is usually deficient in it. Other than that, do try to give it time. Getting gluten and beans out of your system will be most beneficial to you, but your hormones are trying to regulate themselves again. :)

About the smell: I've had similar issue. Every time I ate a significant amount of butter, I would smell like I was made out of butter. Turns out the smell was from all the butter I was eating (150-200g a day) at that moment. For some reason, now I don't. I can think of two reasons why that happened:

  1. I stopped eating exclusively butter.
  2. I started clarifying butter I was eating.
