Why did paleo make my skin worse?

Don't get me wrong - I love the diet. I've been paleo for about a year now, and I look and feel better. Except for my face. I used to only get a pimple every now and then, but slowly my skin starting getting worse on the diet, and now my cheeks are constantly red and pimply. It's not terrible looking, but I'm disappointed that it even got worse. On top of that, sometimes it just feels like my face is hot and red for no reason.

Could you help me figure out why? Obviously I've make some sort of change my body doesn't like. I suspect it's the increase in omega 6 fats. I'm trying to cut down on my O6 sources now. It also might be the fact that I started paleo with very few vegetables. For the past couple of months, I've added many more veggies.

Here's an average day:

B: 2 eggs, 2/3 slices of bacon, spinach, bell pepper, coffee with almond milk

L: chicken salad with celery, banana, almonds

D: beef, onion, tomatoes, /// or more bacon and eggs with veggies

So far, no specific foods have been linked to acne production. Certain conditions can trigger it, like obesity or elevated levels of certain hormones like estrogen and testosterone. But overall, your acne might not have anything to do with your diet.

Also, if you were on "the pill" and stopped taking it, that might also cause some acne.

That's why I'm so confused - I'm at a healthy weight and the last time I was on the pill was 2 years ago. As far as hormone surges go, it's a possibility, but why now??

Yes, it is definitely a possibility. My significant other went through this exact same thing. A while after dropping the pill, maybe a year or so, she got some serious acne. Apparently it is very common.

Well it has definitely improved since it was at its worst a couple of months ago, but there's still something there. It was like watching a teenager go through puberty...only she is well into her 20's. It sucks, I wish yours goes away soon.

It sounds like a form of mild rosacea from inflammation, possible food intolerance of some kind, or over eating.  Definitely cut back on o6 but also consider:  certain foods, including all nightshades, oversalted or cured foods, too much food or caffeine, they all lead to a flushing reaction for me.   You might have similar triggers.
