With so many of the regular posters already gone missing, plus the general sort of thing that happens whenever a site's look gets completely changed, do you think this changeover will lead the decline of PaleoHacks? Do you think 6 months from now PaleoHacks will still be the best forum for this topic, with the best contributors? I'm skeptical.

I understand the need to migrate away from the old orphanware platform, but for me, the new platform is maddening. Comments under answers should be visible without having to click to see each answers comments. New activity on a question should be at the top, on the first page. The direct links to the newest activity would suffice, except they don't work. So, my experience is that every time I pop in here and click a question that has a lot of activity on it, I have dig around trying to find the newest activity. As far as I'm concerned, this site has become completely unusable.

Thanks for your feedback - We are very aware that the site in its current incarnation is NOT what people were originally using on Paleohacks, we essentially had to move platforms very quickly and so that is why the functionality is a little different. We are working dilligently to fix bugs - and by the end of the week, you should see a re-theming of the site where the functionality reverts back to the previous version, and the design is back to being similar to the previous version as well. I appreciate your patience - and we're going to be doing everything we can to make this site the absolute BEST that there is for Paleo information.
