Let me start out by saying that in May I temporarily moved to Australia for 6 months and was feeling fantastic. Plenty of energy and overall healthy! About 6 weeks ago I was diagnosed with strep throat and then 2 days later had to get on a plane back to the US for a family funeral. While flying back, not only did I feel like complete garbage, my ear drum ruptured and I developed a pretty severe ear infection. I didn't eat for 48 hours and had to go to the emergency room when I landed home due to severe dehydration. Not to mention the travel time back home was 30 hours and I probably got 3 hours of sleep.
I was on 3 separate antibiotics for 10 days and I am just finishing up my last bottle of ear drops for the ear infection, as the ENT told me it could take 4-6 weeks to heal. While I was in the US I had very minimal rest due to the funeral and everything that was going on with my family. Clearly not an environment to get healthy. My appetite was non-existent, however, when I ate is was paleo.
After I completed the 3 antibiotics, the next 5 days I drank several cups of homemade chicken stock, took Dr. O's probiotics, and ate and drank as much fermented foods and drinks that I could get my hands on each day. I was also strict paleo, with some dairy. In addition, I did not drink alcohol or workout for an entire 4 weeks.
2 weeks ago, 1 month after being diagnosed with strep throat, I flew back to Australia to complete the rest of my stay. I slowly started working out again, but remained strict paleo, with only 2 glasses of wine over the past 2 weeks. However, I still feel very very lethargic, my recovery from workouts is very slow, my appetite is not very high, I am still having occasional ear and throat soreness, and I just don't feel like myself overall.
Is this just something that is going to take time due to the high stress my body was under and the amount of antibiotics? Or is there something I am missing that I should be doing to get myself back to optimal health?
Was I ever completely healed and should I go on more antibiotics?

Of course if you are worried then you should see a doctor. However in my opinion you should take it easy. Take long walks instead of working out. Do yoga. Sometimes recovery from bacterial infections is long, frustrating.
Let me give you a personal example. Back in my 20s when I was in great shape I was hit with pneumonia. Took antibiotics, then I soon felt fine and went back to work. But I could not workout. In no time I got out of breath, dizzy, nauseous. It took a full month to recover.
PS - as it happens, I am on day 6 of taking doxycyline to treat folliculitis. My digestion is wonky and I feel tired. I can't stand the stuff, but at least the folliculitis is going away
