Where do you all buy wild caught shrimp? I saw a bag at Whole Foods and it was like $40 for what looked like 1-2lbs.

Yes, shrimp is fine when it's farmed. http://www.montereybayaquarium.org/cr/SeafoodWatch/web/sfw_factsheet.aspx?fid=246

You're lucky. Definitely. In Ohio, the best I can do is generally frozen, wild caught shrimp. It's fairly expensive. The only stuff I can find fresh is usually farmed. Even at places like Whole Foods, the majority is farmed.

With anything, you can watch for sales. Whole Foods in NYC has wild caught shrimp on sale every few weeks for around $10. Some places have it lower, so shop around.

Can you not just buy them in your regular grocery store? This may be because I live in Alaska, but we always have both farm raised and wild caught shrimp...
