Increased circulation to...certain areas...

Answered on August 19, 2014

Has anyone experienced increases in circulation to their "sensitive" areas? Increased sensitivities?

I'm at a loss. I'm preforming like a 16 year old all of a sudden, and I'm much more sensitive "down there" (picture lots of eyebrow raising with the quotes) than I remember being since I was a teenager. This is not really a problem for me...as much as it is for my girlfriend. Lot's of "Come on! Are you serious? What are you 14?" happening right now. It's kind of frustrating cuz I'm usually far from a selfish lover.

Anyone else notice this??? Is there a physiological basis for this?

It really has no effect! My drive is pretty high... I think I'm starting to get used to the increased sensitivity, today there weren't any complaints.

OMG. I love you, girl. I had to click just to see what your answer was to this question because I knew your significant other does not eat purely paleo. <3

Oh no...you misunderstood. We definitely have a very rich sex-life. Just that, recently, it has tended to be "shorter."

certainly there are MANY accounts of a paleo diet altering hormonal patterns in women, I'm not sure why it wouldn't necessarily be the same for men. If it doesn't level out to a level you consider more normal soon I might be more concerned, but it could effect a big hormonal change in you, which is why it might be so effective to begin with

i believe you are. it's just the honesty of the question is refreshing. um... all i can say is you might want to compensate with lots of foreplay for her and that I have heard an average "duration" is 6 minutes. Yup. 6 minutes.

not the right gender to help you with this, but i adore you for asking this question, particularly with the very candid and somewhat self depreciating description of your gf's reaction.

This is actually pretty common, I think. Testosterone levels just have to be higher with higher cholesterol intake and more vitamins and minerals. Exercise spikes testosterone levels too, so it's like a new puberty for a lot of people.

Personally for me I have to watch out for strong winds and carry a book around wherever I go. To quote Tom Waits: "I'm so goddam horny, the crack-o-dawn better be careful around me, boy!"

I think what Futureboy is getting at is that he's noticing changes in endurance (from marathoner to sprinter?). I've definitely noticed improved circulation to the wedding tackle, which I believe has increased my sensitivity.

It's kind of like switching from endurance athletics to strength/intervals: with enough "training" you'll adapt.

PS. An excellent book on this subject is the Multi-Orgasmic Man. It'll change your life, brother.

I don't know if you're looking for a solution to your stamina issues or merely commiseration, but have you tried...ehm...relieving some pressure before having relations? Maybe enjoy a couple in the morning to slow you down later that evening? :)

my libido hit the roof. i don't know whether it's the paleo or powerlifting. the more pleasantly confusing issue i've been having lately is that women tell me how good i smell when they're close to me and i don't wear cologne, use scented soaps or products. pheremones? i don't know what it is, but the girlfriend would kill if she knew that happening on a pretty regular basis these days...

If you are young again, in that certain male way...

Pause for more foreplay (if you need to) and then get right back to it.

oh, and you may want to do more squats during your workouts so that you can qualify for the Sex Olympics later this decade. 8^)

If you think you're having fun now, try quitting Finasteride AND going Paleo at the same time. It's like rising from the dead.

Hormone rebalancing, improved neural transmission and vascular health? There are probably dozens of physical improvements involved.

The opposite happened for me. Paleo didn't change my sex drive much, but I have a ton of stamina now. My poor girlfriend...

Praise be to the greatest of all gifts Paleo brings.

Going paleo is supposed to increase your libido. This is a claim I see made on several paleo books or recipe books. something to do with just getting all the junk out of your system and balancing hormones. The desire to mate is a very instinctual one and we wouldn't be here if that weren't the case! Hard for me to quantify though since i wasn't very active before getting married, and before that, I was on a normal diet. So, my increased urge could've been from meeting a good mate, or switching to paleo, or both. hard to tell. I wouldn't worry about it. In fact, I think a lot of guys would love to be in your position! It's completely natural and to suppress it would probably do more harm than letting loose. I'm no therapist though, so I have no idea how to encourage your gf more, other than get her on the paleo diet and feed her lots of aphrodisiacs! Try some maca root!
