Help me get friggin motivated to work out/get moving!

It's lovely I'm slowly but surely losing weight by having adjusted my diet (yay dropped 2 dress sizes) but I just can't get myself to get moving. It's so lame! I bought myself the Wii Fit where you don't need to hold on to the remotes (I used the 1st version before) and shamefully I have not used it since December last year. smh The most exercise I get is walking the dog, we're in a hilly area.

My guy plays basketball for hours with his buddies or does push ups and the likes. He always has been the more sporty type. Me, not so much. I got him on board with Paleo and he dropped significant weight ever since. I just lose weight tediously slow and well my muscles could use some toning.....

HELP!!

thank you all for the suggestions! I recently moved my now much too big jeans far far away in the back of my closet and pulled out all the smaller size jeans I had held on to for the last couple of years. I think a lack of solid sleep is a reason why my work-out plans I make the night prior fail the next day. Another thing to work on. I'm still tempted to check out supplements and switch to yerba mate for some AM booster. Thanks!

if a supplement is loaded with caffeine and other possible than this may not be for me. Basically using another crutch... :-(

Yep, this. It's like being a writer. You sit and wait around for the "muse" before you do any work and before you know it you're dead and you never got that novel written.

Replacing diet coke with another product full of artificial crap is pronanly not a good idea. I looked at the ingredients its essentially two red bulls with lower quality sources of vitamins, loaded with caffeine and food coloring. Not something I would put in my body.

This is loaded with caffeine... Niacin, some aminos. It will make you VERY jittery... until you start working out. Then you're just 100% in the zone - very clean feeling. As long as you're able to manage the rest of your caffeine intake it shouldn't be a problem. Like I said, I only take 1/2 dose and it's fine. Bodybuilding.com used to sell trial size.

I'm forgoing now but there have been times that I had smoked some medical MJ, a specific Sativa strain, that made me climb those hills and hike for hours. SO yes something that makes me up and going but not the Monster drink crap will do nicely ;-)

actually I'm fascinated by this. I'm trying to quit Diet Coke (which is basically my only source of caffeine) so another energy booster like this Pre-work-out stimulate may actually just what I need! A reason I don't work out is feeling lethargic so if this kind of stuff will get me revved up: yay! I hope that it is not loaded with caffeine and make me all jittery!!

Why would you suggest a pre workout stimulate to someone who isn't working out?

It's all about the inner dialogue. It's far easier to stay in your comfort zone and procrastinate that workout. So, some techniques are to catch yourself whenever you're feeling lazy or uninterested and say to yourself "Oh yea? Watch me NOT skip my workout! Watch me take the stairs instead of the elevator/stairs, watch me avoid that donut, watch me go for a walk instead of stay inside, despite the rain/snow, etc.

One thing I've found is that without stimulation, you'll tend to be lazy and if you fall into that trap, you won't work out, but, if instead when you feel less energetic, you pick up a dumbbell or do exercise, you'll get a lot more energy.

You have to be stubborn in this endeavor for your own good.

I may have regretted going out and getting drunk on occasion, but I've yet to ever regret hitting the dumbbells, or doing any sort of workout.

Honestly, this one is on you. There is nothing that a stranger on the internet can say that is going to get you motivated if you are not motivated to do it for your own health.

Its not hard -- changing your diet (congrats btw) is MUCH harder. aim for two times a week, 30 minutes of hard work then you are done. I'm ok with rewards -- not food -- but how about a nice dress one size too small (did this with some new pants -- they are now my "I m feeling bloated" pants). or something similar.

Simple: work out without motivation. Just.Do.It.

I took "before" photos in my underwear in front of the mirror in that awful bathroom lighting. Just looking at those had me uploading music to my iphone and hauling ass to the gym. Seriously. Yikes.

It sounds like you just haven't found something that makes you move that you actually enjoy. If exercise is a duty and a chore, it won't stick. It needs to be something you love doing to a point where you miss it if you don't.

There are a million and one ways of getting fit. Having some kind of social element can help it stick. You could make a workout pact with a friend. How about you make a resolution to try one new thing a week until you find something you love? Take a class, go swimming, go out dancing, try yoga, ultimate frisbee, run to and from work, lift weights, self-defense, trapeze, rollerskating - whatever's available in your area.

Go to some of those tumblr "fitspiration" blogs. It is kind of cheesy, but they have motivational pictures/phrases.

If you are looking for inspiration remember this simple rule "we recommend that you apply inspiration daily 5 minutes is all it takes then go work out"

I put before pictures of myself around the house, pictures I don't like. They serve as a constant reminder and motivation.

I love this stuff, but haven't been messing with it since I started Bulletproof Intermittent Fasting. Which is another solid way to get motivated.

If you take 1/2 a dose of this you WILL be working out within 30 minutes. And it WILL be an amazing workout, every time.
