Satiating foods; do men and women find different foods satiating?

What kind of foods do you find most satiating? I have a few male friends of mine that find having a bigass steak with potatoes on the side more satiating than something like, say; a cup of full-fat yoghurt with nuts sprinkled on the top. However I personally find that even after having a steak or some chicken fried in a bit of coconut oil; I STILL remain hungry. Basically the only 2 foods I find truly satiating are eggs & yoghurt. I eat 2-3 eggs as a meal and feel completely satisfied. I eat about a cup and a half of full fat dairy as a meal occasionally and feel comfortably satiated. However I try having a similar amount of calories with a piece of meat or fish and I don't get the same effect. Am I the only one this happens to?

Yeah I agree with you on that! Taste is a huge part of it. Easier to feel satisfied on a small portion of roast beef than the equivalent amount of broccolli calories.

So funny, for our staff meeting we had burritos from chipotle brought in. Being Paleo I was kinda hella upset and got moody and hangry. I was able to scrape out about a 1/3 of a cup of steak from a burrito and topped it with a small container of salsa all the while just kind of hating what the little rice and beens and cheeze on it was going to do to me emotionally. Needless to stay, most staff could only eat one burrito. I ate 5...Like a cup and a half of meat and a half cup of salsa. Then you look at cost. The cheap food conspiracy. I don't even know if this is answering anything. But I have to say I'm always a little hungry after I eat Paleo but I never have the full bellied bloated burrito feeling. That is no bueno!

Blah yogurt girlie food no thank you. I feel satisfied with a big steak, a potato and some vegetables with plenty of butter.

i'm always satisfied after i eat meat. maybe it's because i was a vegan for so long before paleo, but nothing fills me up like meat does now.

For me, more important is the flavor. It needs to be flavorful, savory, well-prepared. Something like regular yogurt, or plain nuts, or plain chicken -- it won't satiate me. Pulled pork, or smoked brisket, or a nice braise.....that's a different story. I'm male, btw.

I eat a fair bit of biodynamic yogurt, also a lot of nuts and I find neither of them constitute a meal for me as they leave me unsatiated. A big steak and some veggies and pumpkin, or some chicken/beef goulash with some cauliflower rice will keep me going for hours, usually enough for me to skip breakfast the enxt day and have a light lunch or a protein shake.
