Eating until nausea

If I always eat until my stomach hurts will my satiety control mechanisms become damaged long term? Because I have started an intermittent fasting protocol with two meals daily and always eat until food disgusts me. What kind of health effects can this have?

Maybe use something like CRON-O-Meter (cronometer.com) to make sure you're hitting your targets, and just split it up into more manageable meal sizes? Overeating at each meal can be rough on your insides, and it's just not a healthy habit. Good food should make you feel good, not sick.

Eat very slowly, and then see how you feel. Chew everything to a pulp, and then some. It just sounds like you're eating too fast.

But the problem is that if I don't eat until I'm full I feel like I'm under eating.

Why on earth would you want to do that? That "because" does not nearly explain your rationale. Just because you are eating two meals daily doesn't mean you should eat yourself sick. This one of those "if you have to ask..." questions.

Intermittent fasting is not for everyone. It definitely messed up my satiety signals and caused weight gain. Do you tend to overeat in general? Are you leptin-resistant? Do you have an eating disorder? Is your mind obsessed with food/eating during your fasting period? If yes, intermittent fasting may not be working for you.

I did intermittent fasting for 8 months with 1-2 meals within 4-6 hour eating window. It didn't work for me. I realized that after gaining about 20-30 pounds (initial weight was 105lb). Now I am eating three regular meals and slowly losing the weight I gained from intermittent "fasting." It was more like restriction followed by uncontrolled binges. Sometimes I would feel so full, bloated and sick that I wouldn't be able to do ANYTHING for hours after eating. If the way you eat after the fasting period looks more like a binge (uncontrolled, mindless eating past satiety), then IF is probably not working for you.

Maybe instead of wondering about the health ramifications, just stop forcefeeding. Like Dan said, slow down and take breaks if you need to. If you're so ravenous that you eat to the point that you're feeling sick, prob need to troubleshoot your IF - food choices, timing, etc.

Bad ones. How fast do you eat? If you eat slowly and/or take breaks within meals, you may feel satiated before you stuff yourself to disgust.
