My feet are on fire!

Okay, they aren't really on fire, but we're having a sudden burst of warm weather here in Chicago which reminded me of my usual summer complaint about hot feet.

It gets to the point where they feel like they're going to explode. They don't get swollen or anything, they just...inwardly pulse with heat...if that makes sense.

I've kind of attributed this to the fact that I don't sweat much, and perhaps they are having a hard time cooling themselves. I've also read that too much salt can cause these types of symptoms.

Has anyone experienced something similar in the warmer months? I'm wondering if diet changes would help or hurt this?

I can get away with the same at my work, but the problem persists when I'm barefoot too, so probably not attributed to shoes. I tried Vibrams on this past weekend and HATED them! Like little cages for my toes :)

Hey, another Chicagoan!

Wear less shoes? If you can get away with it, anyhow. I wear thin vibrams or just flip flops in the summer, but I work in a VERY relaxed office environment.

I get hot feet too and find that rubbing peppermint oil/lotion really helps. Burts Bees makes a nice peppermint foot lotion.

Try soaking them in cold water when you can.
