If I didn't use salt, would I get enough?

I've been eating fruits / veggies / meat this past week or so pretty plain. I've also been drinking mostly aquafina (pretty close to distilled water.)

Without salt in my drinking water, and just what's in the organic food, will I get enough sodium?

I've had the same experience. Every so often, I start feeling really run-down, and then I realize that I haven't been adding much salt to my food. Up the salt and I'm back to normal.

That's gotta be it. I need more salt. Interesting. (I haven't heard this mentioned much with switching to the Paleo diet.)

(by contrast, my tap is 400ppm and brita brings it down to low 300s.)

Back when I was growing hydro, my TLD meter rang it up at 1ppm, which was close enough for me.

I've been feeling a bit dehydrated which kind of created a feedback loop into using less salt. Interesting that it can make you sluggish. (Before Paleo, I was probably going through grams of the stuff.) Seems like it would be difficult to avoid salt, but, I guess I've pretty much removed it on accident.

I find my food doesn't have enough salt in it, unless I add it, or am eating a lot of seafood. I wasn't using any in my cooking and started feeling sluggish. I read somewhere it might be sodium deficiency. I started salting my food again. Ding, energy was back.

Now I barely use salt when I'm cooking, but I add a lot at the table. It's still much less than I would get from box food.

Aquafina is not close to distilled water http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aquafina http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Distilled_water

The amount in normal drinking water can vary greatly. http://www.who.int/water_sanitation_health/dwq/chemicals/sodium.pdf As for if the rest of your diet provides enough, you will have to research how much is in the food you are eating, further broken down to the amounts you are consuming. My feeling is that no, you aren't getting enough if you aren't eating processed foods.

I have been thinking / feeling this for a while now. My lack of salt. I sprinkle salt (use Himalayan salt) on my food, but it really does not amount to much and I will feel very tired by the end of the day. Then I just starting making cheese again, with the addition of lots of salt and my energy level has crept up noticeably.
