Forgot to remove produce sticker. Now what?

I was pressure cooking some veggies and threw an acorn squash on top (sliced in half). The cooker was set on high pressure for 6min. When it was done I realized I forgot to remove the sticker from the squash. It seemed unchanged when I took it out but I'm guessing some of the adhesive probably came off. I was planning on pureeing the veggies for my 8mo. Think I should toss the batch? What about for myself?

If your baby beeps at the scanner, be sure to give him/her some nice paleo meal with fat and fiber to move things along.

I think for just one time won't be harmful.

I wouldn't stress over it. I'd eat the batch. Food sticker glue is regulated by the FDA and supposed to be safe to consume in small amounts. I wouldn't make a habit of it, but once isn't going to be harmful.

I understand your concern, especially for baby's health, but remember to contrast that with regular air quality...I live in a place that I know the air gives me a dose of poison every day. If I had the choice, I'd eat a book of stickers over the pollution I'm breathing in...You???ll be fine (yes that???s completely my own opinion, though I did play a doctor in a High School play once) and babies are tough lil buggers, just ask YouTube.

Side note, if after you take your baby through a check out isle and the scanner beeps...the sticker issue might be greater than we had previously determined.

Truth.

Just cut off the area with the adhesive and it should be fine.

If you let your baby eat it, don't ever ever ever tell it to her - otherwise she'll have an excuse for the rest of her life for all the ills she will have.

I'm sure you've eaten worse. You'll be fine.
