IS THERE A PALEO RETREAT OR ADULT SUMMER CAMP? I NEED TO 'LIFE' DETOX.

Hi. I need a Paleo reboot and I desperately need a healthy soul feeding break from my stressful life. I have this dream that there is a place I can go to meditate, take walks, play, do yoga and eat clean paleo for a week. Rolfing, body work, and water fun like kayaking and catamaran would be nice as well. I know it's a fantasy but it's one I really want to be real, somewhere.

This sounds ideal. Let me/us know when you're open for business. :-)

Hike the Sawtooths. I used to catch lots of brook trout in the small lakes. Fried with the famous potatoes = yum.

Hubby & I are planning to offer something like this after we get settled in Boise, Idaho next year.

I offer nutrition & life coaching & he offers yoga & coordinates outdoor activities (kayaking on the Boise River!) and is a damn fine Paleo/Primal chef.

I have no experience with it, but something like: http://www.movnat.com/ might be something to look into.

I've been wanting to do this for years. I have a house in the mountains that I don't live in anymore because of the commute. It's so remote, I'd love to drive people up there, give them a fridge full of meat and veggies, then leave. There's no way to get back into town to satisfy your cravings. So you'd have no choice but to go paleo and detox.

If you get a room with a kitchen this could work, and not as expensive as a camp:

Stock up on your paleo groceries before you head out there. Activities organize themselves, from rain forest hiking to kayaking the lake.

You're (sort of) in luck: http://www.marksdailyapple.com/primalcon-2013-registration-now-open/#axzz2DzA8dsEo

Much shorter and probably not quite as relaxing, but it is certainly a paleo retreat. I'd say your best is to rent a suite somewhere secluded for a week where you can cook your own meals and take local yoga classes.

Primal Retreat based in the UK run weekend and week long retreats. I went for a week last year, some of the exercise was intense but at the end I felt really relaxed and refreshed. The owners are Movnat qualified and teach yoga and kickboxing fitness. Great Paleo food too.

Family Camp at Bass Lake Our family and neighbors went to this camp for about 10 years. I'd contact them to determine if their cooks can accommodate your "allergies".

is-there-a-paleo-retreat-or-adult-summer-camp?--i-need-to-'life'-detox. No heat or insulation in the cabins, so pack your down sleeping bags.

is-there-a-paleo-retreat-or-adult-summer-camp?--i-need-to-'life'-detox. Swimming, canoeing, water skiing, and sailing are available at the lake and Yosemite is a short drive away. There are plenty of outdoor activities for everyone.

I enjoy going to Camp Albert Pike and staying in one of the cabins there to get away from "civilization" for a while. There are plenty of hiking trails and a clean river to swim in. If you're into fishing, the river has a lot of rainbow trout, sun perch, and crappie, which make for an excellent meal over a campfire!

There is one on theperfectdiet.com site. Have no first hand knowledge about it, just aware of it from reading different paleo lifestyle sites.

Try the paleo retreat "on the rocks" in the south of France: http://lagorcerocks.com

They provide something like you're looking for, it seems! :)
