Link between red wine and brain power?

I've been paleo for a couple of years now and I've noticed a strange brain power or concentration boosting effect of drinking red wine. The effect seems to be largest after no drinking alcohol for a period of weeks/months then having about 4 large glasses of red wine - with dinner. After doing that, I do feel a bit, you know, off balance. But the next day, when the drunkenness has worn off, and even for a couple of days afterwards, my thoughts are much clearer and I feel this weird sensation of having more 'brain energy' or mental energy. The effect then wears out. I've searched for the answer to this on this forum and generally but I'm not sure I've got a good answer yet, I've only got my theories - I thought maybe the effect of being in ketosis and drinking alcohol might do it, or is it simply the effect of resveratrol. Perhaps its something to do with my brain's tolerance to the ingredients in red wine or my body's downregulation to the sugar or other ingredients.

I'm really not sure, so I thought I'd ask all you lot as many of you know so damn much. Until I work out the answer I'm going to enjoy experimenting to find out more. Looking forward to hearing from you.
