Red meat associated with Diabetes II?

An article in a Norwegian paper (http://www.vg.no/mat-og-drikke/artikkel.php?artid=10089474) says that the scientists have found a correlation between red meat consumption and Diabetes II.. They don`t know why there is a correlation, but they assume it is because of all the iron in the diet. WHat do you think about this?

I think I have a better idea what causes T2 diabetes than these morons. As a T2, I know what I ate that got me here. It wasn't a sh'load of grass fed steaks and organ meats with a side of marrow and bone broths. It was Taco Bell, 7-11, Winchells, Fritos, Doritos, Oreos (ever notice how they all end in -o?), french fries, beer (a lot of beer) and other crap for many years until my body just gave up. I actually didn't eat much red meat, a burger now and then, but mostly I ate chicken (if you can call McNuggets chicken - lol).

or is it this one that MDA did a post on, showing all kinds of other nasty things in the diet that would confound the results? http://www.marksdailyapple.com/does-a-high-fat-diet-cause-type-2-diabetes/#more-22728

Mostly these correlations have many confounding factors, like that when public opinion thinks you shouldn't eat red meat and you do it anyway, you may also choose to do things that are really unhealthy.

I really suggest watching Tom Naughton's lecture at AHS: http://vimeo.com/27793037

In it, he discusses the value (or lack thereof) of correlational studies such as this one.

If this is true, I'm gonna be pissed. All I eat it grass fed beef since I started this Paelo deal.
