Why use foods that existed 200 years ago, why not 15k years ago? During an ice age? Or why not 50,000 years ago, before agriculture? My body likes pure sugar, meth and heroin. Does that mean I should listen to my body and constantly do addictive drugs? Seems unlikely. My view on nutrition isn't necessarily superior to yours, I admit that, but I tend to eat foods that I could identify in the wild, and prepare on my ownif I needed to. It just so happens that I prefer red meat, dairy, shellfish and tubers. But how can you come here and tell people to listen to their bodies while at the same time

@Big Poppa, lol, it's refreshing to see someone assert that table sugar is a healthy addition to one's diet while simultaneously stating point blank that **"fish is bad"**. Front page news in china daily tomorrow: "Replace fish with ice cream for better health" and on CNN: "Ray Peat, the new president of the US launches health campaign to increase table sugar consumption in US population". But I'm splitting hairs? lol, how high on your sugar rush are you right now?

Like 8% protein? #2, fish has polyunsaturated fats, is that bad? 3) yep, and equal amounts of table sugar which is nutritionally void. 4) are you saying paleo diets are low carb? 5) so do all carbs that spike insulin,... Like potatoes and tubers... You learned a couple things from a blog post he made or something? That's cool bro, you're just scratching the surface though, and ray peat is not privy to the big picture, or of he is he doesn't express it in his blogs, which I've also read..... You're gonna have to learn a lot more about nutrition before anyone will be callin you

1.) Ice cream has a complete macronutrient profile 2.) There’s virtually no polyunsaturated fats in ice cream. 3.) Ice cream contains milk, cream and egg yolks, which are nutrient dense. 4.) Ice cream contains sucrose. Sucrose has a balance of glucose and fructose which can help raise your LDL cholesterol as a precursor to steroid hormones. Fructose can possibly bypass free fatty acids which may block glucose and therefore fructose may be able to get into your cell to create energy where glucose can’t 5.) Ice cream can shut down stress hormones like cortisol.

Do you know what happens to a person with SIBO (and many people who have it are Paleo by default) when they eat ice-cream? They get sick for three or more days afterwords. Ray Peat is great for healthy people and people with thyroid problems. But if I eat sugar, I get extremely sick. So much for your poppa.

If you want to have a hero, have Jack Lalanne. He looked great in his 90s, and still had dark hair, by the way. He also was very good in sex. He never said he did, but I infer it from what he said (he knew the secret to good sex). And he was married to ONE woman for a long time. And was a good husband.

As for Ray Peat, I am not sure how old he is, but he sounds like he is in his 90s and his hair is receding and is all gray. Not exactly a health role model. Okay, okay, he is brilliant for people with thyroid problems. But I would rather stick with Jack Lalanne.
