Peanuts aren't paleo. They are legumes rather than real nuts with all the problems associated with beans. They are also prone to aflatoxin contamination - a very nasty group of mycotoxins.

No, but that doesn't mean that can't serve a legitimate role in a paleo diet. It could be a better alternative than many other quick and convenient options, just don't make them a mainstay of your diet.

It depends on the ingredients. If all the ingredients fit into a paleo diet, then yes or not, then no. Also look out for bars that are mostly dried fruit and nuts -they may be paleo, but they're also high in sugars and for many people that's a problem.

I'm leaning toward no, but there's no way we can really answer your question for your particular store's bars. "Raw food" bars aren't always just raw food. You'll need to look at the ingredients, then make a decision based off of that in terms of the paleo paradigm and whether it has an impact on you.

Some things to look for: 1) Can't pronounce the ingredients. Probably not paleo. But if it's the last ingredient, probably not much of an impact on you unless you're sensitive. 2) Lots of oats/grains/high fructose corn syrup or "corn sugar". Not paleo and will spike blood sugar. So not that great for you.

Thanks for sharing such a wonderful piece of information. I must say that while reading your post I found my thoughts in agreement with the topic that you have discussed, which happens very rare.

I don't know if they would be "paleo" but I love Larabars, especially the peanut butter cookie one. It is just peanuts and dates and it tastes just like a peanut butter cookie! It's unreal. I also like their pecan pie flavor which is also just pecans and dates, all mashed together. I think for a quick grab these are fine, otherwise, the ingredients can be eaten on their own. I love halving a date and sticking a pecan in - so delicious.
