I have a friend that just got chickens and he is overwhelmed with eggs and has offered me some. I typically buy cage free organic vegetarian fed eggs from the store(usually Trader Joe's). I've seen his birds roaming around pecking in his yard.... (more)

I'd go with lovingly raised and harvested eggs from your friend. If you can visibly see that they're healthy, happy birds, then they'll make awesome eggs. If you're really concerned, you could always periodically send your friend home with a gift... (more)

I have been Paleo for about a year and saw some great results. I lost about 20lbs (from 145 to 125 for a 5'4 female). In the past few months, however, I have started to put weight on, at about a pound a week. I am feeling very frustrated and have... (more)

Actually, I lost weight after re-introducing carbs to my diet after over a year of very-low-carb paleo. If you're exercising as heavily as you are, you might want to up your safe starch intake. Your body might be rebelling from too much exercise... (more)

Good Morning!  Today is my 11th day on 100% Paleo. I've lost 11lbs on my 10 day weigh-in and at least 1 pant size. I'm literally pulling pants off without unbuttoning them that were tight on me at Christmas.  My diet before was loaded... (more)

Great work so far! You are really an inspiration. Today is day 2 of paleo for me and I refuse to weigh myself because I get a bit obsessed as this is a way to recover from an eating disorder. But my clothes fit very well. Keep it up!

I stumbled across this article today, http://www.smnweekly.com/add-years-to-your-life-by-eating-oatmeal-and-other-grain-products/8843/ Have we been doing it wrong?  I'm thinking of switching back to mass oatmeal.

These studies are often skewed, and funded by companies that sell "whole" grain products, so the outcomes are not very surprising. This article describes how the results are skewed and, most importantly, correlation is not causation. Will Eating... (more)

I typically eat a piece of breakfast casserole (egg, sweet potatoes, spinach, onion) with my BPC. Should I eat with it or use it as meal replacement? Weight/Fat loss is my goal. I'm on Day 9, down 7 pounds.

The point of bulleproof coffee was originally to promote ketosis, due to the fact that eating fat while eating low carb will promote weight loss through ketosis. Eating sweet potatoes along with butter defeats the purpose. You don't lose weight by... (more)

Cabbage and canned sardines… and it's the pesticides? Don't get caught up in the hysteria.  A very loose guess: histamines/tyramines in your food (these are naturally occuring compounds).

The saponins in soap nuts do their job in cleaning hair and/or laundry.  As long as you don't eat them, they can't damage your gut lining.    Saponins are why we should avoid eating quinoa, but I don't know of anyone who eats soap... (more)

I am guessing most of it. For chicken feet, you only need a 12-18 hour boil.  This is a by eye estimation based on how much gelatin you can get from pig feet or chicken feet. It does look of order 10% of the solid mass. It is a good question... (more)
