I have a friend that just got chickens and he is overwhelmed with eggs and has offered me some. I typically buy cage free organic vegetarian fed eggs from the store(usually Trader Joe's). I've seen his birds roaming around pecking in his yard.... (more)
I have been Paleo for about a year and saw some great results. I lost about 20lbs (from 145 to 125 for a 5'4 female). In the past few months, however, I have started to put weight on, at about a pound a week. I am feeling very frustrated and have... (more)
Good Morning! Today is my 11th day on 100% Paleo. I've lost 11lbs on my 10 day weigh-in and at least 1 pant size. I'm literally pulling pants off without unbuttoning them that were tight on me at Christmas. My diet before was loaded... (more)
Great work so far! You are really an inspiration. Today is day 2 of paleo for me and I refuse to weigh myself because I get a bit obsessed as this is a way to recover from an eating disorder. But my clothes fit very well. Keep it up!
I stumbled across this article today, http://www.smnweekly.com/add-years-to-your-life-by-eating-oatmeal-and-other-grain-products/8843/ Have we been doing it wrong? I'm thinking of switching back to mass oatmeal.
These studies are often skewed, and funded by companies that sell "whole" grain products, so the outcomes are not very surprising. This article describes how the results are skewed and, most importantly, correlation is not causation. Will Eating... (more)
I typically eat a piece of breakfast casserole (egg, sweet potatoes, spinach, onion) with my BPC. Should I eat with it or use it as meal replacement? Weight/Fat loss is my goal. I'm on Day 9, down 7 pounds.
The point of bulleproof coffee was originally to promote ketosis, due to the fact that eating fat while eating low carb will promote weight loss through ketosis. Eating sweet potatoes along with butter defeats the purpose. You don't lose weight by... (more)
I developed Rosacea overnight two years ago. Just woke up red with bumps. I've done tons of laser, topicals, avoided food sensitivities , gluten , dairy , alcohol and caffeine. None of this worked. I went paleo. Didn't work.... (more)
I've lost some weight on Paleo since starting 2 weeks ago, but have yet to notice any physical changes, i.e. reduction of love handles, slimming of waist, loss of back fat areas. I'm currently 5'6" and 178lbs. I measured 17% body fat a month ago.... (more)
I started to feel better within 2 weeks and within about 4-5 weeks started to notice significant weight and "girth" loss. I was very strict with the diet initially, absolutely no grains or sugars, only water and black coffee to drink, no dairy,... (more)
I've bought some conventional cabbage from walmart and every time I eat a cabbage salad I get headaches afterwards, same with canned smoked sardines. I imagine it's an effect from the pesticides as I rarely ever get headaches. Is this common? (more)
Cabbage and canned sardines… and it's the pesticides? Don't get caught up in the hysteria. A very loose guess: histamines/tyramines in your food (these are naturally occuring compounds).
I watched this video and liked his thoughts about walking. I'm a recent Paleo convert and have adopted this walking suggestion. I'm down about 6lbs in the past 5 days since I started walking in addition to going Paleo. Also, my clothes are... (more)
Anyone else using "wash nuts" or "soap nuts" (same thing) as an alternative to commercial shampoos? I have been using them for years with great results but only recently realized that they contain saponins, which apparently is what gives them... (more)
Yes, should I eat the beef bone marrow after having cooked it with its bones for 48 hours to make broth? We have tried to do so, thinking it is good nutrion-wise, but we can´t seem to handle the taste of it. It does not taste so bad we... (more)
Hm, OK, thanks, I will try that. Although I am still sceptical since we have tried to fry it with onions and so on without it helping out much with the taste..' But, after cooking it for 48 hours, is there really any good stuff left in the marrow? (more)
I've seen an extremely high number of articles, books, etc. that talk about the collagen and other beneficial organic compounds that can be found in bone broth. However, aside from an analysis that found that only a small amount of calcium gets... (more)
So I went paleo about a year ago and have loved it. Ive lived by the 80/20 rule and it's worked well for me. I've felt better, slept better, discovered I'm not really a gassy person, and lost weight all the way to my optimum goal(not just the high... (more)
