How much protein each day you guys eat?

Answered on August 19, 2014

In grams. I eat about 35% calories as protein, rest mostly fat. I feel good but wanted to know what you guys eat on a daily basis!

I think some Paleo people have a notion that protein isn't that important but I think it's the essential macronutrient that drives success stories when ppl go from high carb to a lower carb Paleo diet.

I do, but that is just my preference. I do not think it is completely necessary for everyone to do, but I like to track/weigh all of my food to be able to track when I have an adverse reaction or when something makes me feel particularly good.

Dinners for me are usually half veggies half meat, but both cooked in some sort of fat.

Do you really calculate it on a daily basis down to the nearest 10g?

I am about on par with you, Stephen Ross. I don't count my macros, but every now and then I will total it up, and it just works out that way. But it is still only about 20% of my total calorie intake.

Lol Matt, more like so much delicious food. I just had 1.5 pounds of catfish , white rice, steamed broccoli, cauliflower, green beans, carrots, potatoes in a cheesy sauce with a glass of Cabernet and Gruyere cheese. All in all 120+ grams of protein for dinner. I had a chicken, avocado brown rice lettuce salad for breakfast and again for dinner totalling a little over 200 grams of protein, which is kind of mid to low for me. Honestly I'm instinctively between 200-300 grams of protein without paying attention.

For me, it can range anywhere between 60g-130g. Usually around 80g. I typically eat two fillets of fish per day. Sometimes more, sometimes less, sometimes other meats.

I'm your weight but I only do about 100 grams/day. However unlike you, I am more "forever middle aged" than "forever young". ;-)

An average day I probably have protein at every meal. 2-3 eggs for breakfast, leftover stir fry for lunch, snacking on nuts a lot of times and then steak and grilled vegetables for dinner would be typical. That's just recently though. Before I was going a little over the top with fruit and potatoes and juice. So now its like more protein and fat and less carbs.

at least 120 grams per day. I take whey protein every day as well as collagen so that adds about 38 grams to what my meat meals already are.

I think it really depends on what your goals are. If you are working out and trying to gain strength, you need more protein. If you are just trying to maintain/feel good, just feel it out.

I am 19, 5'5" female trying to get stronger, and I consume 160g protein, 90 g fat, and 90 g carbs!

About 15-17.5%. Higher if very low carb, lower if eating a few carbs.

I try to keep close to 40/30/30. I sometimes end up with a bit less protein than that and a bit higher carbs or fat though.
