Hack my PlantFusion Protein Powder

I lift weights x5 a week and typically end my workout with a nice grass-fed, certified rBGH-free whey protein powder.

Later in the day, I've been adding a plant-based, soy-free protein powder made from pea protein isolate, brown rice protein concentrate, and artichoke protein.

I wanted to mix up my proteins so I'm not overdoing any one kind and keeping my protein intake diversified. I kind of like the idea that the plant proteins are less acidic than whey.

Can anyone find anything from with this particular plant protein powder from a Paleo Perspective? Does any know if it is less insulinogenic than whey? Outside my workouts, I eat real meat for protein, so I don't need any lectures about how I shouldn't be drinking my protein. I cheat on purpose so I can gain the physique I desire which I can't do through solid food alone.

That's my answer.

You don't need more than 1gm/lb of protein even to be a larger bodybuilder. Go to T-Nation or Iron Radio and check out Dr. Lonnie Lowery's stuff on protein consumption. You need lots of calories to get big but the absolute amount of building materials you need is not that huge.

Have a 30gm-40gm of Whey PWO with 4:1 carbs and bit of creatine if you want to push things and be "safe" but you just don't need the shakes.

From a paleo perspective, processed peas and rice are about as non-paleo as non-paleo can get.

From my personal experience with two different healthfood store brands of pea/rice protein powders, the stuff is completely indigestible. They both just sat in my stomach like a rock, making me queasy. YMMV
