Cortisol release after protein intake- adrenal fatigue

Hi everyone. Hope there's someone who knows about this and feels like sharing. As in my previous question, (have leaky gut+adrenal fatigue) I feel awfull after eating pork and chicken. Did all the allergy+intolerance tests, but no problem there. Someone here suggested it's probably the cortisol release making me feel bad within an hour after eating pork or chicken, on a VLC diet. Eventhough this morning I added a full tomato and parsley and 4 walnuts and ghee to my bacon, I feel like a zombie and my face has sunken in to the point my husband asked if I was gonna pass out. Although my bloodsugar is still 6.1 , it's probably gonna drop within the hour. (Ate an hour ago) My question is: What can I do about my diet in order to heal and avoid this feeling? Should I avoid eating protein as this releases cortisol and at this point I cannot afford having any made, it makes my adrenal fatigue much worse. I'm really desperate as I have no one to guide me in my diet and doing the best I can, but every time there seems to be a new bump in the road. How to heal my body with the right food/proportions/avoidance without doing it harm every other day when it turns out I react to certain proteins this way? BTW, I don't react to beef like this, nor lamb. And I think neither to white fish and salmon. But since I'm on a 4-day rotating-based diet, I can't keep eating beef and lamb every other day. Should I go without meat some days? Not really Paleo... Guys, anyone... I'd be so thankful of anybody would share hia knowledge or experience with me.... Am lost at what to do...

Thank you so much. I had severe carbohydrate malabsorption and blood sugar issues. I was forced to do vlc, but guess now its more lc. Am back to berries, carrots and potatoes. But still same problem with white meat proteins.

I don't understand why you're on a VLC diet if you're feeling so bad. Add some starch/fruit in there and see how you go. Instead of pork/chicken, eat more fish, beef, shellfish, liver/heart, and bone broth, among fermented foods and seaweed. You don't have to over-do it, just get some energy. Also, check Chris Kresser's web site, he has some good articles about adrenal fatigue, and how whey helps.

If you're trying to repair your adrenals, you may want to start supplementing with ascorbic acid (vitamin C) as the adrenals burn through loads of it.I agree, too, with the suggestion re the GAPS diet. Finally, you may want to ditch the pork and chicken for beef and lamb and some oily fish.

You should eat carbs with your protein to avoid feeling like crap.

If you have no issues with whey protein isolate (it does not contain lactose or casein) you could try using that as a base and incorporate additional stuff (such as almond meal, ground chia, ground macadamia, etc.) according to your nutritional objectives.
