Noticable benifits from adding probiotics?

Has anybody had any noticeable benefits from adding pro-biotic foods into their diets? I've been dairy free for a couple years now and I'm thinking about experimenting with kefir.

Look for it in the "organic" refrigerated section. The only ingredients will be cabbage and some form of salt.

Just because it's fermented doesn't mean you can tolerate it. i.e., if you're sensitive to dairy, milk kefir may not go down well. You could try goat milk kefir or water kefir. Or sauerkraut, kimchi, etc.

I just added raw sauerkraut to my diet and I'm still looking for ways to incorporate others. I haven't really had any digestive complaints since going Paleo, but I'll let you know if I notice any improvement. I didn't really do any n=1 on this, it was an instant where I should add the kraut as it should provide benefits.

I've noticed my stomach feels more solid and less uncomfortable. Also, this sounds weird, but I'm not constantly aware of my bowels when I regularly drink kefir. I've had Irritable bowel syndrome in the past 5 years. Although it had gotten better I think those feelings may have been left over from that and not something all people who drink kefir or probiotics may experience.

Food seems to weigh me down less and nourish me more. gas has gone down, and my poop is a great consistency (sorry). No wiping necessary.

I do notice that my mood is better, but I'm not 100% sure I can attribute that to the probiotics. Raw sauerkraut seems to have equal or greater benefits than probiotic supplements, in my personal experience.
