Importance of being out in raw nature & honing your primal senses

I feel that being out in nature is highly important for physical & mental health, for myself being out in nature is as big a part of paleo/primal lifestyle as the diet itself

What do you all do to make sure your getting your dose of fresh air/sunshine? Also any particular activities to hone your primal senses?

I make sure to go walking in a forest every morning before work, every lunchbreak, and everyday im off work i go on long hikes, also when the season comes i find hunting mushrooms is an awesome hobby to get out in nature doing some walking & hunting, when looking for them you have to tune your senses rather than just strolling around aimlessly, you have a goal & when you acheive it all those miles are so worth it.

If you think about it hunting/gathering for veggies/fruits & animals you wouldn't just be having a leisurely walk you'd have sharpened senses ready to react to your environment

I pretty much only hunt for psilocybe semilanceata (the magic ones) when the season is on but also find a few edibles, generally when you know what your looking for its very hard to misidentify them, and unless your 100% sure don't eat it!

hunting for shrooms sounds pretty interesting, surely you must have to know your stuff since some are poisonous and others edible?

I love hitting the trail with my dog! She likes to take her time, which always makes me stop and appreciate my surroundings. I love to take some deep breaths, take in the scenery, and sometimes I even pray. So relaxing.

I also think gardening is a great way to get your hands dirty :)

Golfing is my favorite way to get some nature, as well as physical and mental stimulation. Just skip the cart.
