What's the deal with potatoes?

who’s okay with white potatoes?

Is your basic baked potato going to be ok? I've heard people talk about glycoalkaloids that aren't destoryed by cooking and what not. Can someone give me some perspective and opinion on potatoes. Not sweet potatoes but just the russet/white fleshed type. I'm someone who handles carbs well by the way.
