Have you ever had solanine poisoning?

My digestive system has been out of whack the past couple of days & i've been eating questionable potatoes. I've also developed cold-like symptoms.

I threw out about about 8 pounds of potatoes and started on a new bag (I eat about 12-20 pounds a week and I'm not gonna stop anytime soon)

Anybody have any experience with this? Could it be the potatoes?

Have you considered switching out potatoes for sweet potatoes for a while?

Yes, I think it could be the potatoes as I'm quite sure I experienced symptoms msyelf due to toxic levels of solanine from a bag of old potatoes about 6 months ago. The potatoes were green under the skin and very bitter tasting, but I ate almost the whole bag before I started having flu-like symptoms, nausea and vomiting, and serious sleep disturbance. Also felt like I was going a little crazy in my head.

Apparently solanine builds up in your tissues over time, even if the potatoes are fresh since they all have some amount of it in them. I went potato free for 2 months, re-introduced them and had problems again, so I am now potato-free. I have done tests with tomatoes and peppers as well and seem to do fine with those.
