Do post workout meals do anything in the way of enhancing athletic progress, are they even helpfull at all. What about recovery? If someone were to do, say 7-8 hours of intense training per week, would a post workout meal help them recover?

Carbs! Post workout I eat as follows
2 pieces of bacon
1 lb sweet potato with butter as well.That's roughly 100g of carbs
