Hey Everyone, i hope you are all doing well on your paleo way of eating. I am just curious if anyone else has pork in wine? By that i mean cooking the pork in wine till it is cooked all the way through. It is a greek tradition, so i understand if most people other than greeks and or medditeranean cultures dont know of it. Im worried if it will hamper my paleo results so far. Thanx for any feed back.

Everything made in my slow cooker gets a splash of red wine.

Worrying about a tiny bit of wine cooked in your food is worse for your health than consuming a tiny bit of wine cooked in your food. So my answer is that it's fine but I suppose it really depends on your goals.

I don't see why cooking with wine would be a problem. Wine is probably the best Paleo alcohol option, compared to many spirits and beers that are made with grains. Wine is basically just fermented grapes, and grapes, in moderation, are Paleo-friendly. In an extended cooking period, the alcohol will have dissipated mostly, if not completely, if that is a concern.

If you're doing well on your diet thus far, try adding it in and taking note of how you feel while eating it, immediately after eating it, and over the next few days. I know that cooking with wine seems to work fine for my body, but only you'll know if it works with yours.

Happy cooking! Sounds delicious and I just might have to look up a recipe. :)

I eat plenty of both, in fact just had ribs cooked with white wine a couple of nights ago...
