Are poppy seeds paleo (and how about their effects on a drug test)?

OK, looked around, don't know much about poppy seeds. Are they paleo? Made this tonight, sounded kinda paleo and "ancient", pulled w a y back on the honey, and overall, the thing was pretty darn good! But what about the poppy seeds? Have I discovered an alternative to nut flour? Will so many poppy seeds make me high? I felt kinda racy/speedy after I ate this, but maybe that's the honey, which I don't eat often. Is there something else in those seeds? Is it true it makes your urine test like you are a drug user? What give in the world of poppy seeds?

Recipe I made tonight:

Ancient Poppy Seed and Blackberry Cake

This rather unusual cake is still a firm favourite in many parts of eastern Europe. It's unusual components would suggest an ancient origin and poppy seeds are known from a number of ancient burials. I have few qualms, thereofre, in suggesting this as a truly ancient recipe.

Ingredients

12.6 oz poppy seeds

???6 eggs (duck eggs get you closer to ancient times but hen eggs wil do) ???

honey to taste ???

5 oz blackberries (or any other seasonal fruit)

Preparation

All cakes need flour of some kind and this is no different. If you're being authentic then grind the poppy seed into a flour using a quern. However, using a coffee grinder works equally well (even if it's not as satisfying).

Once you have the poppy seed flour, tip into a bowl. Crack the eggs and separate the yolks and white into separate bowls. Beat the yolks until thick then continue beating as you add the honey a little at a time to the beaten eggs. Next stir in the blackberries (or whatever friut you're using) and the poppy seed flour. Finally, beat the egg whites until they form into stiff peaks and gently fold the whites into the fruit and poppy seed mixture. Gently pour the resulting batter into a lightly greased and floured bowl or cake tin. Bake in an oven pre-heated to 340F for about 50 minutes (or until the cake has set). Allow the cake to cool in its dish or tin, tip out, slice and serve with cream and a sprig of mint.

I just deal with truck drivers. Any drug test could be show positive with poppy seed consumption. No you don't have to eat loads. One poppy seed muffin could show positive. I was told this by DOT officials at a seminar.

Poppy seeds are the west's best kept secret. Plant them in your garden and when grown, infuse the bulbs as a cup of tea FTW

My main concern about poppy seeds would be the omega 6 content: 1 ounce contains 8g omega 6, so the whole recipe contains approximate 100g (negligible omega-3). All the normal caveats about seeds and anti-nutrients apply. All in all, at 28/100g omega-6, they compare disfavourably to almonds, hazelnuts and other such flour substitutes.

All truck drivers in the US know they better not eat a poppy seed muffin before a drug screen. They will show up. Reference at Snopes

What is your definition of paleo? Strict Cordain-allowed-me-to-eat-this-Paleo or just reasonable-and-not-unhealthy-to-eat-paleo or even just grok-could-have-eaten-it-paleo?

I'd looked for some data an poppy seeds a couple of months ago and found few studies both pro and con regarding the effects on health. My conclusion was, as so often with these questions: eat in moderation.
