Long menstrual cycle

So I am day 35 of strict paleo. I am 33 and on the birth control pill. This is my first period while on paleo. My period is usually very light and lasts 2-4 days. Many months I only need a panty liner the entire cycle.

This period came 2 weeks early and I am on day 11 of my period, needing a tampon all days. It's not heavy, but too heavy for just a liner.

Hoping this lasts only this cycle, and ends soon, because next Tuesday (today is Friday) is when I'm supposed to get my period based on my pill pack.

Any thoughts would be great

Did you start eating a lot of flax when you went Paleo? I did and it made me bleed, which is why I'm asking. I bled for 8 straight weeks, getting heavier and heavier, until I learned of the connection. It stopped 2 days after I discontinued flax. There are phytoestrogens in flax that may be the cause. There may be other foods you've added since beginning Paleo that could be responsible.

If your period has come a full two weeks early and you have had any sexual intercourse since your last period, even with being on the pill I would beg you to go to the doctor. I had a ruptured ectopic pregnancy that I needed emergency surgery for 5 years ago when I thought my bleeding was my period (just a very long one) and it wasn't. It is always worth checking if periods are very different to usual, just to be on the safe side. I hope I don't seem too negative but this is something very close to my heart.

Since going Paleo, I get my period every 3 weeks ( it was every 4 before) and it seems to last a few days longer, but not heavier. So it has definitely changed.
