I've been on a strict paleo diet for 6 weeks now and aim to do so for at least the next 3 months. My short term goal is to lose weight and look good in my wedding dress, i do crossfit 3 - 4 times a week and can really see the benefits already! Long term is to enjoy this feeling of great health and energy i've experienced since starting!
However i see some obstacles coming up. Since i'm getting married, my friends are planning a bacherlorette party for me. This means a lot of drinking and in general not the best food. Although i'm sure they will keep my diet in mind a little bit, there is no way i will be getting out of the drinking part. Therefore i also want to 'layer my stomach' so that i won't be an absolute mess after 2 or 3 drinks..
I'm a bit worried that since i've started i may become intolerent to certain foods or alcohol. Therefore i was wondering if it makes sense to cheat every now and then to keep my body 'used to' non-paleo foods and drinks? I would hate to think that i'd have stomach cramps all day on my bachelorette party, or even on my wedding day cause i'm not used to alcohol or certain foods. What are your thoughts?
