What's going on? this is like the third "What the heck is paleo" post today.
Since you're depressed, I'll give you this link. It's more inspiring and fun than most primers:
But geez people, learn to use google. And good luck.

While I don't think your question should be voted down (it's already at -1 as I write this) just because you are new to paleo and this site, and asking the most basic question imaginable, I prefer to assume people are sincere until proven otherwise.
Somewhere near the top of this page are two places to start: the FAQ link, and a "Search" box. The FAQ will give you some helpful background information and lead you to more. The search box works like Google, you can type in some key words and search this site. After spending a little time doing that, you might find many of your questions answered.
That's how I suggest you start.

In essence, eating paleo is eating the way our ancestors in the paleolithic era may have eaten-fresh, organic, non GMO fruits and vegetables, meats and organ meats that are organic, pasture raised, and eat a diet that nature intended, while abstaining from neolithic foods like grains, dairy, legumes, and seed oils. Depression is a seven headed hydra, but by eating paleo and therefore avoiding hormones in "modern" foods, exorphins in certain grains, and adopting a paleo exercise regimine (lots of movement at a slow pace, lifting heavy things, and occasional sprints) can be a good start to treating your depression without drugs (which work for some people work very well and I'm not saying htere aren't miracle drugs out there, but IMHO drugs and medications are best avoided at all costs unless absolutely necessary).
