Hi everyone. Patrik (not at a computer) asked me to close the thread.

You wouldn't be irritated if he called you a pedophile?

I did not read Travis comment that infuriated Kurt Harris so much. I think Kurt Harris makes important contributions to our understaning of paleo, and I believe Travis is someone who writes well and has read a lot on this topic. I do not know whether K. Harris or Travis are right about exactly how many carbs one should have but anyway, I believe that K. Harris should not be calling names on Travis. BTW K. Harris is very much respected here so I do not see the point of him going so infuriated...

A bit of a meta comment on paleo itself maybe. Although it does not really fit.

I just found it impressive how annoyed he was. It must take talent to do that.

I don't really understand how this is either an answerable question, or a hack.

Well, I never stated that he spawned the zc and vlc paleo movement, just that he spawned a good portion of the zc movement. I never said he intentionally spawned it or even that he was ZC himself. I just see ZC people link to his posts all the time and quote him, so I take that to mean that he has spawned a good portion of them. Seems fair to me. I don't quite understand the strangely acerbic and defensive post, but there are many aberrations that I can't explain.

I'm not saying it's science- there's alot of things paleo that need further study. What I am saying is that while many ppl in paleo were saying no dairy, Harris was out there nearly alone advocating it now. I know a year ago there were many fewer paleos advocating dairy experimentation as there are now.

Travis i would like to hear ur response to kgh's rebuttal of ur claim that he spawned the zc and vlc paleo movement. That's where this stemmed from in the first place.

the science on dairy is just beginning. I think it is a bit too early to say thumbs up or down. Right now most advocate reintroduction and see how it goes for n=1. But n=1 is not science.

it-appears-paleo-hacks-has-hacked-off-kgh.....he-is-calling-out-travis-culp.-what-say-you-paleohacks?

I'd rather not sully myself by trading sophomoric ad homimens with this fellow, but I would like to say that I saw his post earlier and much prefer his new choice of wording.

I'm not a parent, so I haven't much experience with the proper handling of tantrums, but I'm fairly certain that you're not supposed to give them too much attention.

From my perspective, KGH gets a disproportionate number of digs on this board as compared to say a wolf or sisson. His rant seemed inevitable from where i was sitting. He seems to be a polarizing figure in the paleosphere and other than his very blunt demeanor, I can't figure out why. He has a very conservative, evidence-based approach to the science that is much less controversial than other paleo luminaries(the most controversial thing is recommending dairy which has of late become the norm). I think if he feels people are unfairly calling him out and attributing things to him that aren't what he's espoused then he has every right to respond.

Between KGH and Travis Culp, I suspect that KGH's version of history as it relates to the thoughts and philosophies of KGH is more accurate.

Based on the quoted comments, it seems that Travis was likely just wrong or misremembering. Not worth writing off the whole forum... In fact, not even worth writing off Travis...

From my reading of PaNu, that ends up being the tone of every 4th post (in the short time period I've read it). Nothing wrong with taking a stand like that on a blog, as making it fairly personal is a bit of the point.

Personally not a fan of the "weak minded psychopaths" thing, although it is relevant that you shouldn't be so open minded that your brain falls out :D. A tad hyperbolic.

If you take everything you see on a forum seriously you probably would be left with water as the only thing not officially excluded.

Edit: I found the perfect web comic http://xkcd.com/386/ to go along with this.
