I think that the assumption that Paleolithic humans lived around 70 years just because modern hunter-gatherers do is ridiculous. Do you feel the same way about it?

Michael Gurven and Hillard Kaplan had published a paper entitled “Longevity Among Hunter-Gatherers: A Cross-Cultural Examination” which states that most people in modern hunter-gatherer groups live around 70 years. And several websites, forum posts, and blogs come to the conclusion that therefore, most Paleolithic humans must have lived around 70 years as well. Modern hunter-gatherer groups are poor analogies for our ancestors, so I think the idea that most Paleolithic humans lived around 70 years is bogus. Who else feels the same way?
