My vote goes to frugavores/30 bad peeps.

Which one do you think? Frugavore? Raw foodist? Paleo? GAPS/SCD? Vegan?

I second Nance's opinion.

It's just my opinion, but I think passion follows personality type rather than food choices. I guess you could say that the food mix likely to attract the most people who tend to have dogmatic reacgtions would be the most "passionate." Otherwise, sorry but I don't think this question is on-topic here.

While it is fun to poke fun of vegans, vegetarians, etc. and to thumb our noses (and steaks) at them, I think that they share a lot in common with Paleo folk.

Namely:

  • Passionate about the "truth" of chosen dietary path

  • Willing to risk social aprobation in pursuit of dietary goals

  • Significant "health seeking" behavior (reading, writing, researching nutrition blogs, books, etc.)

  • While I don't have any statistics to back this up, I would assume that there is a large proportion of socio-economically advantaged individuals in both groups.

  • Disregard for "conventional" nutritional and medical advice (more likely to pursue "alternative" and "natural" treatement modalities)

That's just a few things that popped into my head, but I feel like the list could go on with the main difference being meat consumption vs meat avoidance. There are a lot of former vegans/vegetarians in the Paleo world and I think that both groups would be well served if there was a willingness to work together and to recognize the common platform of "real food" and "least harm".

Well, at the risk of making it seem like I hate vegans (I really don't), I'd say they are most passionate, and for a simple reason: a lot of vegans came to that diet because of moral concerns. There's nothing like self-riteousness to turbocharge your passion.

30 BAD a day seem passionate but I think it is going to hurt them long run. They seriously think of meat as " toxic poison " that will give you every disease under the sun. They won't accept the fact that a diet made up of 100 % fruit and greens isn't optimal. Most will stick with the diet DISPITE health problems cause they are so dogmatic. They will most likely say it is " detox ". Anyways I agree they are passionate but not in the " right way " I love this site cause everyone is more chilled out and not so damn strict about every little thing you eat.
