Hey Guys, I was just wondering if anyone was willing to share any tips / tricks that they use to follow the Paleo Diet and if you would be ok for me to put them on my blog/website? I am trying to help as many people as possible. This could be top snacks, use of herbs / spices or marinades, maybe your favourite paleo meal. Anything would be amazing thanks :-)

Welcome, Christina! This site is less like a traditional discussion board and more like a questions-and-answers site. If you browse the existing posts you will find many discussions of tips, recipes, and common questions. One good way to get started is to click the "questions" button at the top and then the "votes" tab in the upper-right. That will show you the all-time most popular discussions. You can also use the search box in the upper right to look up things you're interested in.

The way that my wife and I have stuck with this for so long is that we are doing it for health and disease prevention. The weight loss is secondary. If you focus on weight, you're paying attention to the wrong things. Weightloss doesn't distinguish between fat loss and muscle loss. As I've stepped up my meat and fat intake and started exercising harder LESS often, I haven't lost a pound, but I've gone down three belt sizes. If I focused on my weight only, I would have probably given up.

You know, the best trick I have is the Dr. Jack Kruse leptin recent (eating just beef within 15 min of waking). I cant explain it but nothing kick starts weight loss like that protocol, and Ive tried a lot of thing in the past two year.

Shop the perimeter of the grocery store, buy some good spices, read labels, love your kitchen, read paleo blogs, get outside, sleep well, and build strength so you LGN (look good naked).

Those are my $0.08!

Focus on what you CAN eat, not what you can't. Many who consider or start the diet whinge about the lack of pizza, pasta, sandwiches, etc. But lots of delicious things like meat, potatoes, veggies, salad, etc are allowed and you can easily build a diet around them.

if you buy high quality meats, fats, offal or egg yolks, don't cook them! raw paleo is revolutionary :)

My advice would be to focus on lean meat cuts, eggs, veggies, some fruit, some dairy, plenty of sea food, avoid refined sugars, processed food and grains like the pest, allow for some of the healthy starchy carb sources every now and then, try to keep protein high and not go crazy like many by isolating fat and chopping it down in spoonfuls as you may have done with nutella when you were a kid :)

My take would be that saturated fat is not to fear but also shouldn't be meant to overdo so much. Eat two to three times per day trying to get 5-6h in between and try to stay a little bit hypo-caloric or iso-caloric (sorry I don't buy that 'eat as much as you can as long as it's real food').

Then do some blood tests from time to time to see that everything's ok and track your feelings/emotions/wellbeing and possible nuances to adjust and read periodically new stuff about nutrition (be it Paleo or not).
