DC has a bounty of Farmer's Markets. The Dupont Circle market is open year-round on Sunday: http://freshfarmmarkets.org/farmers_markets/markets/dupont_circle.php

For more farmer's markets in the area check out: http://www.localharvest.org/

Less than 45 minutes outside of DC there are TONS of pick-you-own farms. Many of these farms also sell cows, pigs, lamb, raw milk, etc.

There is a farmer's market on U St. and one of the vendors sells grass-fed beef. Good produce too.
