I am 5'4, ~130-135lbs and hovering around 30% body fat. I walk 2 miles to work every day and 2 miles home, in addition to Crossfit somewhere 4x a week before work. I'm having an extremely difficult time dropping anywhere under my current weight/body fat, and I am considering adding in a 2nd work out in the evening to my daily routine.
I know the dangers of over-training, and don't want to cause too much stress on my body and actually cause weight gain and adrenal fatigue. But would adding a short 15-minute HIIT cardio training session 4-5x a week in the evenings (on the bike, erg machine or treadmill) be that detrimental? My thoughts are that HIIT cardio might help with fat loss and help boost my metabolism in addition to building muscle with Crossfit.
Note: I am not on a Very Low Carb diet, as I find it makes it impossible for me to work out, but I do limit my carbs to 75-100 per day. That seems to be enough to keep me feeling good in my workouts! I eat 100% real food diet, and while I don't count calories exactly, I'm eating somewhere around 1400-1500 calories a day.
Any thoughts on the idea of a two-a-day workout would be great!
